Trying something new can feel intimidating, especially when it involves emotions, healing, or the nervous system. Many clients arrive for their first EFT session wondering:

  • “What actually happens?”
  • “Will I have to talk about painful things?”
  • “Will it feel strange?”
  • “Do I need to know what I’m doing?”
The good news is: EFT is gentle, guided, and always at your pace.
Here’s exactly what you can expect.

A Safe, Calm, Supportive Space

An EFT session begins with creating safety. You’ll be welcomed into an environment where there is no pressure to perform, no judgement, and no need to “get it right.” Most clients feel relief within the first few minutes.

A Conversation, Not an interrogation

We start by talking about what you’d like support with. This might be:
  • stress
  • anxiety
  • overwhelm
  • an emotional trigger
  • a specific memory
  • a physical sensation
  • or just “I don’t feel like myself.”
You only share what feels comfortable. You are always in control of what we explore.

Gently Checking In With Your Body

EFT is body-based, so we often explore what’s happening inside you, such as:
  • tightness
  • heaviness
  • tension
  • numbness
  • buzzing
  • or “I don’t know what I feel.”
There is no right or wrong answer, your body simply gives us clues.

Learning the Tapping Points

I’ll guide you through tapping on specific acupressure points on the face, body, and hands.
You simply follow along.
Most clients say it feels grounding, rhythmic, and calming.
You don’t need any experience, everything is guided in real time.

Working With the Emotion or Pattern

Depending on your needs, we might:
  • explore the emotional charge
  • work with a memory
  • tap to lower stress
  • untangle a belief
  • connect with body sensations
  • support your nervous system to regulate
The tapping helps your brain feel safe enough to process what’s been held inside.
You never have to go deeper than you feel ready for.

Your Body Begins to Shift

As we tap, clients often notice:
  • a deeper breath
  • tension releasing
  • emotions softening
  • thoughts becoming clearer
  • a sense of warmth or relief
  • a feeling of “coming back to myself”
These shifts are signs that the nervous system is relaxing.

Integration & Closing

Before ending, we check in with your body and emotions again. You’ll leave feeling grounded and resourced, with more clarity than you arrived with. If helpful, I may share simple tools you can use between sessions.

How You Might Feel Afterwards

Every person is different, but common experiences include:
  • lighter
  • calmer
  • more present
  • more connected to your body
  • clearer on what you need
  • less reactive
  • more spacious and grounded
Sometimes deeper insights continue unfolding in the days that follow, this is normal and part of the healing process.

EFT Is Not About “Fixing” You

It’s about gently supporting your nervous system, clearing emotional blocks, and helping you reconnect with your own clarity, strength, and resilience. You’re not doing it alone,  you’re guided every step of the way.
